Steamroller Gallery, founded in 1996 as an artist-led cooperative space in Frenchtown, NJ was a place for and by artists living in the wings of New York and Philadelphia. Paying homage to the Dogged Determination of the original members, a new initiative was formed in 2022. Two of original founding members, Val Sivilli and Erika Steffen joined up with Susan Mania and Kazaan Viveiros in creating Steamroller Group, an artist collective that pays homage to the legacy of community run initiative in support of artists and the artmaking endeavor.

Steamroller has from its beginnings been a space where artists working along the Delaware River in Hunterdon and Upper Bucks County share progressive ideas with like-minded colleagues and exhibit work that engages in a conversation with the larger art world and the local community. Through topics of environmental and community stewardship, Steamroller Group seeks to foster a living dialog among artists in an effort to create a supportive atmosphere in service of creating artwork that speaks to the relevant issues of our time.

Our group has grown to 6 members.
